Children’s Capital of Culture trainees
17th July 2025

Recruitment for the next cohort of Children’s Capital of Culture trainees is now live. Here is some information about these opportunities from Children’s Capital of Culture …
These Traineeships are quality part-time jobs for 16-to-25-year-olds who live, work or study in the Rotherham borough. Each trainee is placed with a host organisation, where they are supported to deliver fantastic creative events and projects as part of the Children’s Capital of Culture Festival Year. They also benefit from lots of training and mentoring – and they’re paid above the Real Living Wage (£12.85 an hour, before tax!).
Over the past three and a half years we’ve supported over 120 trainees, who’ve gone on to all sorts of fantastic careers: from working at Channel 4 and Netflix, to establishing careers right here in Rotherham with permanent roles at organisations like Rotherham Council, Skills Street, the Work-wise Foundation, and more. As such, it really is a brilliant opportunity that can support young people to do amazing things!
Trainee host organisations this year include the RMBC Green Spaces team, Sheffield DocFest, Wentworth Woodhouse, Grimm & Co, and many more! (The full list is on the attached PDF) The trainees will start in August 2025, and will work either six- or eight-month contracts.
The deadline for completing this form is 11.59pm on Sunday 27th July 2025.
