School’s out for summer
19th July 2024
I hope that the final day of the term and year went well. I recognise that for some it’s been a challenging year, for a whole host of reasons. For others it’s been another year where the children and young people breeze through.
Yet again, I have been overwhelmed by the dedication, resilience, warmth and good humour of the staff body. I’m sure you will agree that they have all added something quite special to the lives of the children and our community. I’m sure many of you have taken the time to thank that member of staff who has made the most difference to the life of your child.
For some of our children it’s farewell; it’s time to move onwards and upwards. To you all I say thank you! Thank you for your commitment to your school and its community. You will be missed. Please stay connected. You have my thanks and best wishes.
To the rest of the school community, those who are staying with us, I also say thank you. Thank you, for the hard work, commitment and sense of purpose – now leave all that behind and go off have a decent, restful and (hopefully) enjoyable break. We’ll see you all in September.
‘Summer is the annual permission slip to be lazy. To do nothing and have it count for something. To lie in the grass and count the stars. To sit on a branch and study the clouds.’ Regina Brett
‘Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it.’ Russell Baker
Take care and stay safe.
