Art sits within the Faculty of Visual & Performing Arts and Media which has some of the best results and most innovative teaching in the college.

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic Art Technician to the department, having the ability to provide high quality support to teaching and learning and maintain and operate specialist equipment and materials. The main work will be the maintenance and upkeep of the Art, Graphics and Photography department and the specialist equipment used. The role would mean maintaining and supporting Dark Room, Printmaking (including screen print, intaglio and lino) as well as more basic art and design processes such as painting and drawing. There will also be a requirement to use software such as photoshop and support staff and students with printing and exhibiting work. The role requires supporting Advanced Level students and their teachers to help them make best use of the resources.

Based at our Thomas Rotherham College site, the successful candidate will be student focused and will contribute to the continuing development of high-quality provision that requires an individual approach to each student’s support needs and individual learning plan.

Candidates must hold a Level 3 qualification in Art, Photography or Graphics.
