Happy Holidays?
22nd May 2026
Half term 5 ticked off. The older you get, as time is a relative concept, the quicker the days seem to pass. Thank you all for your support this past half term. The testing regimes have kicked in, as they do every year, but that doesn’t diminish or under-play the importance of us all creating the conditions that will allow our children and young people to prosper and be the very best version of themselves, at this time.
It’s a half term break. For all of us, that will mean at least a 3 day weekend, with the Bank Holiday. For all it will be an opportunity to take a proper and extended break. Enjoy!
And quite remarkably the weather gods look like they have blessed us with decent Bank Holiday weather – phew what a scorcher etc. Many of you will take that time to spend your leisure activities with your family and friends. Many of you will be working out how to entertain your children over the coming days. I know that I have that wider pastoral responsibility for you all and, as a consequence, I thought it might be useful to identify some half term opportunities for you to access and some TripAdvisor advice to ensure you are forewarned..
A Top Ten for the half term break.
1. Visit London.
Try Big Ben….
2. There’s more to London…
3. Or visit Edinburgh.
The famous Arthur’s Seat might take your fancy…
4. Scotland does have a lot to offer…
5. Heading south…
6. The Midlands…
7. Surely the King has something to offer…?
8. OK then, head to the South West of England…
9. Heading even further…
10. Ireland is surely better…?
Well, there you are. Surely something for everyone? Whatever you are up to, enjoy.
