Season’s Greetings

20th December 2024

Well, we’ve (just about) done it! – depending on when you read this. Congratulations at getting to the break and we should thank out children, young people and staff body for showing a degree of resilience, determination, compassion and professionalism.

Thank you for your support for us all in the schools, the college and the Trust. You are always  open, honest and balanced in your approach and communication. You know that we, in Inspire Learning Trust, have a compelling core message for our learners, their families and communities. That message is credible, consistent and, critically, it resonates. We fundamentally believe in the power of changing lives. Giving all who work for and with us the opportunities to grow, develop, strive and achieve their dreams. We inspire!

That should not be lost, should not be forgotten. We know that our learners and their families trust us. You trust us to do the right thing, even when the right thing is difficult, You trust us to deliver high standards, even when those standards aren’t always reciprocated. You trust us to be there, even other service providers have given up. You trust us to be the very best, even when being the best is incredibly tough.

And so, at this time of the year, at the end of 2024, at the end of the longest term, at the point where we say goodbye and season’s greetings to our children, our young people, our friends and staff and our tough, tough work – until 2025 at least. To you all I say thank you, rest up, enjoy your break, enjoy your families, enjoy re-connecting with those you’ve missed and best wishes: have a wonderful break, Happy Christmas (if you are celebrating) and a very Happy New Year.

Many of you/us do not send Christmas cards these days and many of you/us prefer to know that a charity donation has been made. This year I will be donating to St Luke’s Hospice, Sheffield. (www.stlukeshospice.org.uk). As I’ve done for the past couple of years we send you this mildly amusing Christmas gif. It comes with my best wishes.

And the best Christmas Cracker joke?
‘The Ooh Aah bird is so called because it lays square eggs’
