The end of the school year

Well you’ve made it.

It is officially now the end of the school year. I’m not sure that it feels like it. It doesn’t have the same resonance as usual. That said we have all certainly earned something of a summer break. It has been the strangest of periods in our history. Many of us will come out of this period stronger, some will come out of this period with some personal sadness and loss and some of us will see this as a turning point in our lives. Whoever you are and however this period has affected you, you have my best wishes.

We go into something of a summer break knowing that our return in September will be strange and different. We will, as always, face that challenge head-on and do what we need to do to provide the very best educational, social and emotional experience and support we can, for all associated with Oakwood High School. Until then enjoy whatever break you can get.

‘It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.’ Charles Dickens – from A Tale Of Two Cities

‘Dicken’s ‘A Tale Of Two Cities’ was first serialised in two local newspapers. “It was the Bicester Times, it was The Worcester Times’ Richard Osman

Thank you all for your support and commitment for the school and the wider community.
